The Yorkshire Premier Lounge at Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) welcomed local Indian restaurant, 1875 from Menston, as part of its best in Yorkshire ‘Guest Chef’ initiative.

To celebrate 1875’s upcoming 'Gourmet Indian Sunday Roast' (launches 29th April 2012), chefs from the fine dining restaurant brought a taste of the gastronomic journey through India to passengers in the Yorkshire Premier Lounge.

1875 treated the passengers to delicious traditional Anglo-Indian food including Goan Pork Vindaloo, Chickpea Masala and Alloo Chaat from Mumbia. 1875 sources all meat and poultry from Yorkshire farms to maintain quality, traceability and support local businesses. The restaurant takes its name from its award-winning setting which was built in 1875 – Menston Railway Station.

Sharmila Soekhoe of 1875, said “It is wonderful to offer the passengers at Leeds Bradford Airport a taste of our Anglo-Indian food. Our dishes offer a genuine taste of India, made by Indian chefs with the best Yorkshire has to offer.”

LBA’s Team Leader of the Business Support Unit, Abigail Houlden said, “We are delighted to have 1875 in The Yorkshire Premier Lounge, especially as the food is so flavoursome and authentic. Yorkshire is filled with amazing produce, restaurants and experience and it is a pleasure to bring them together in The Yorkshire Premier Lounge.”
