View Kefalonia Gallery

As the largest of the Ionian Islands covering 302 square miles, the landscape of Kefalonia ranges from towering mountains through rolling green hills to stunning coastline, boasting quiet coves and miles of pristine beaches.

If you visit any of the beaches on Kefalonia, then you should certainly make an effort to try Myrtos at least once; it's been named the finest beach in the Med on more than one occasion. If you're looking for a bit of excitement to go with that sun, sea and sand, then try Antisamos, where water sports are very popular and great bars line the beach's edge. As for those who like to wander, Skala beach is over three kilometres long!

Many sightseers are drawn to the historic sites and natural beauty of Kefalonia, which earned it the opportunity to be the setting for the Hollywood film Captain Corelli's Mandolin. Fiskardo in the north is a good place for Byzantine and Venetian monuments.

For nature-lovers, the Ainos Mountains and surrounding areas are protected national park, so provide the perfect place for hikes, strolls and a bit of wildlife watching.
