Inspiring Generations at Airline Masterclass

12th July 2016

In July, we hosted an Airline Masterclass for the regional Young Enterprise scheme, to inspire future generations about working in the aviation and travel industry.

More than 100 students, from nine schools and colleges across Yorkshire and Humber, were set a two-hour task focusing on aviation business skills. The winners, a group of students from Sheffield College who are completing a qualification in aviation and cabin crew, proposed an idea connecting business people to their computer files when travelling.

Kayley Worsley, PR and Public Affairs Manager at Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “The finalists put so much thought and effort into the day and should be really proud of their achievements. They presented brilliant ideas, which will certainly give us food for thought.

"It’s really important to us to inspire and share knowledge with future generations and so we’re pleased to be able to support Young Enterprise in this way.”

Sheffield College won a trip to and tour around London Heathrow T5 with British Airways. Runners up, Thornhill Academy in Dewsbury, will get a tour of Leeds Bradford Airport. A special prize was awarded to a student at St Lawrence Academy in Scunthorpe who was chosen for their entrepreneurial flair. They will go on a work experience placement at the airport.
