New Air Traffic Control Investment Unveiled

5th August 2016

Leeds Bradford Airport is at the forefront of aviation technology after installing new Air Traffic Control equipment.

The major three-year project has seen a complete change in the airport’s approach room, where the latest Radar Data Processor has been fitted; as well as new radar and voice recorders. In addition, the airport has invested in a 3D Micronav simulator for Air Traffic Control training.

This package of equipment means that the airport is leading the way with the most up-to-date equipment available in the industry.

John Parkin, Chief Executive at Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “This project indicates our drive to continually invest, enabling us to provide the very best services for all passengers. I’d like to thank all of the operations team members who have been involved in this project. They have maintained an exceptional service throughout, which has all taken place around everyday activity in Air Traffic Control services.”
