Discover Dalaman
Sitting pretty on Turkey's southwest, Dalaman has been a popular holiday destination since ancient times. It was good enough for Grecian royalty, and it's great enough for 21st century tourists too.
Small enough to have its own intimate atmosphere but big enough to have plenty to do, it's the perfect place to enjoy a long weekend or more extended trip. Whether you are a committed sunbather or shopaholic, there is no shortage of things to do in this city.
Sun is a shore thing
Beach-phobics may be trapped by the pool - the Dalaman shoreline is undoubtedly its biggest attraction. Stay in the waterside resorts of Icmeler, Marmaris or Oludeniz (complete with national park) or take in Sarigerme's 12-kilometre beach. However, Dalaman is not just sun, sea and soft sand - take a hike through the mountainous hamlets and admire the historical site of Ephesus, or get down and dirty with an authentic Turkish mud bath.

Wave to ancient landmarks
For a bit of festive spirit, you might be surprised to know that jolly St Nicholas was actually bishop of Myra, right here in Dalaman. Visit his namesake church or travel to nearby Kekova, an ancient Lycian town sunk so low beneath the ocean waves that you can sail a canoe right across the rooftops. Full of surprises and quirky experiences, a trip to Dalaman is sure to be one to remember.
