Discover Jersey

Change the channel down on the island of Jersey and enjoy a lifestyle slow down. As a place shaped by the sea, France and England, you should let the coast shape your stay with coastal walks, historic remanants and ferry trips.

Jersey's highlights

In St Helier, Jersey's capital, is where you'll find all major shopping. Although the things you buy are subject to a local goods and service tax, Jersey doesn't pay VAT. This means that you might find your shopping comes in much cheaper than at home. This is also the perfect place to appreciate Jersey's French-inspired café culture.

Once you've had enough of meandering through the shops and drinking coffee, head to the coast for miles and miles of beautiful coastline. Many opt to explore the island by bike, whilst the more adventurous enjoy the plethora of water sports available. From fishing to coasteering, the great outdoors is at the heart of Jersey's culture. To the northwest of the island, you'll find Grosnez Castle which dates back to the 14th century. In more modern history, uncover Jersey's part in World War II, most notably at Noirmont, the Jersey War Tunnels and the Maritime Museum.
