Leeds Bradford Airport named HR Team of the Year at the Yorkshire Excellence in HR Awards

Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) is proud to announce that its People team has been named HR Team of the Year at the Yorkshire Excellence in HR Awards, held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on Thursday 23rd October.
The accolade recognises LBA’s innovative and people-first approach to communication, engagement, and collaboration, all of which have been instrumental in supporting the airport’s ongoing transformation under its LBA:REGEN programme.
The judges praised the team for their outstanding impact and integration across the business, commenting:
“With a seamless connection between the People function and the wider business - a true masterclass in integration and impact. Leeds Bradford Airport’s focus on communication ensured the right messages reached the right people, in the right way. Over the past year, the HR team has driven major improvements in recruitment, onboarding, communication, and colleague engagement, ensuring that people remain at the heart of LBA’s growth. From the successful launch of the new terminal extension in June 2025 to the creation of new digital communication channels and an upgraded onboarding experience, the team has transformed how colleagues connect and collaborate across the airport.
Their efforts have delivered measurable results, including a reduction in time-to-hire from nine weeks to 3.8 weeks, higher employee retention, and stronger alignment scores across the organisation.
