Discover Paris

The self-confessed city of romance, Paris has much more to offer than the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. Although these classic landmarks are must-see photo opportunity for first-time visitors, a slightly closer look will reveal plenty of lesser-known delights too.

Stroll at a Parisian pace

The landmarks of Paris are broadly familiar to most of the Western world, but less is made of its stunning parks and landscaped greenery. Jardin du Luxembourg is an oasis of calm within the hectic city, the perfect place to people-watch and admire the classic Parisian fashion sense of natives as they walk their dogs. Stop off at the Musée du Louvre to gaze upon some of the world's most esteemed art, or take things easy on a cruise tour along the Seine. If romance is firmly on the cards, a stroll along St Martin Canal is guaranteed to seal a proposal. Shrouded in beautiful trees that conceal a wide variety of hip bistros, the atmosphere is intimate but fun-spirited.

Family fun in the capital of France

With short flight times and incredible family-friendly attractions, Paris is an ideal city break choice with children.

Rub shoulders with your favourite fairytale characters at Disneyland, one of Europe's greatest experiences for children of all ages. Head to the National History Museum for a lesson in nature and evolution, it's also home to Ménagerie, the oldest public zoo in the world. Or for the more futuristic, find your way around the interactive themed gardens of Parc de la Villette, filled with mirrors, mists and acrobatics. Equally as enchanting is the Pompidou Centre - a building which is essentially inside out, take the escalators (on the outside) to enjoy a great view of the city before heading inside to the modern art gallery.
