This populous capital city of Malaysia comes with a population of over 1.6 million, Kuala Lumpur is known for its tropical rainforest climate so expect high temperatures with plenty of sunshine during the summer months.

There’s plenty to see in Kuala Lumpur and you literally can’t miss some; the Petronas Towers are the 88-storey twin towers that shimmer over the city, reflecting its historical transition from tin-miners to a 21st century metropolis society. For travellers that enjoy indulging in the culture Thean Hou Temple and Sin Sze Si Ya Temple are both brilliant tourist attractions in their own rights. The height of festivity is during the Chinese festival periods as well as the birthdays of the many temple gods.

The Batu Caves are another wonder to explore, just 13km north of the capital. These impressive sights are a series of caves and temples within the Gombak district. Half-day tours are available but are usually costly however adventurers can catch the public monorail from Bukit Bintang area to KL Sentral railway station.

Central to Kuala Lumpar is the city’s Bird Park; it’s a mere 5 minutes from KL Sentral Station – perfect for a flying visit during the afternoon. Renowned as one of the largest in the world, this park is a free-flight walk-in aviary with over 200 various bird species in a habitat as close to nature as possible. Other great sights to visit are Aquaria KLCC and retail lovers can flock to the city’s shopping centre, Sungei Wang Plaza. For that perfect selfie, take a trip to Lake Titiwangsa for a picturesque view of the city skyline. Spend a mellow afternoon walking the surrounding park amongst other tourists and locals.  You’ll find many out for jogs, playing a round of tennis or on a hired boat around the beautiful vicinity.
